The Army National Guard Office, 12340 Beech Daly, will host a “Day with the Downriver Guard” from 4-7 p.m. March 16.
Military vehicles and weapons will be displayed, including a visit by a Black Hawk Helicopter. More than 4,000 Black Hawks are in service worldwide today, with over 2,100 of them in the United States. The U.S. Army is the largest operator of the Black Hawk, which has been in use for 40 years.
The public is welcome to visit a “Day with the Downriver Guard” and the event is free. A 50-50 raffle will be held, with the proceeds going to charity. There will also be recruiters available if anyone wants to discuss career possibilities.
