Construction includes bridge repair, concrete repairs and HMA crack sealing in the airport portion. Other areas will include new freeway signage, resurfacing and other needs.
Here's a rundown of what to expect on I-94 near the airport:
I-94 from I-275 to Telegraph Road: This area is likely to create the biggest difficulties with the stretch down to two lanes on weekdays, and one land at night and on weekends. The closures started in June and are likely to back up traffic for miles during rush hour. If you are heading to Metro Airport please add to your travel times – and use the southern entrance via Eureka Road.
Other key points of the I-94 renovations include I-75 to Conner Street; M-10 to I-75: U.S.-12 to M-10; M-39 to U.S.-12; and I-94 at M-39.
