Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed Executive Order 2020-164 which requires face coverings to be worn in all child-care centers and camps. Michigan has seen COVID-19 outbreaks at these locations, adding to the mounting evidence that children can contract and spread the virus. The August 6, 2020 countywide COVID-19 case totals included five newly confirmed cases in Taylor, upping the year’s total to 857, and included one death. Taylor’s COVID-related death total stands at 73 for the year.
