    May 18, 2021, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM @ Taylor City Hall

    The regular meetings of the Taylor City Council are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, and are only available electronically because of the pandemic. Because of statewide orders limiting indoor capacities for gatherings, Tuesday council meetings will remain closed to in-person visitors. They can be viewed on live stream on this website and are cablecast live on WOW and Comcast cable channels. Audience participation is welcome electronically through the live stream format by e-comment.   3. Grand Re-opening of the Taylor Veterans Museum

    May 15, 2021, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ Taylor Media Center

    The Taylor Veterans Museum has moved to its new suite in the Media Center building, located where the old courthouse was located in the middle of the City Hall Campus. This event is hosted jointly by the City of Taylor and the Taylor Museum Commission. This two-hour ribbon cutting and open house takes the place of the annual Armed Forces Day Celebration this year, because of concerns over the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The museum, previously located in City Hall, has been closed his March 2020 due to the virus. The Taylor Museum Commission plans a return to a tradition Armed Forces Day Celebration in 2022. Visitors may tour the new site in small groups, social distancing and wearing masks. Featured speakers during the ribbon cutting ceremony will be Mayor Rick Sollars and Museum Commission Vice Chairperson Evie Chateauvert. Mayor Sollars will discuss the renovation of the building, and Chateauvert will talk about future plans for the museum.

    The Taylor City Clerk's Office and the Rotary Club of Taylor present "Free Shred Day 2021." One or two small boxes per vehicle will be accepted. On-site shredding. Completely secure. What should be shredded? Documents with confidential information; documents that could lead to theft; and any document that could cause harm in the hands of criminals. Acceptable: Bank and credit card statements, canceled checks, credit cards, white ledger paper and envelopes, manila folders. and hanging file folders.
